Trilogy Plains ASP Approved

The project team is pleased to announce that the Trilogy Plains Area Structure Plan (ASP) received full approval by the Town of Okotoks Council on June 26, 2023. The final version of the ASP can be found here.

The next step in the planning process prior to development proceeding will require the completion of a Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) and subsequent land use, subdivision and development permit processes. Preparation of the NASP is anticipated to commence in Summer 2023 and more information will be available soon with a new website, e-mail updates and public engagement events. Lamont Land remains committed to ongoing engagement throughout the NASP process. Learn more about Town of Okotoks NASP requirements here.

Trilogy Plains ASP Granted Second Reading

The project team is pleased to share that the Trilogy Plains Area Structure Plan (ASP) was granted second reading by the Town of Okotoks Council following a public hearing held on March 27, 2023. The ASP has now been referred by the Town of Okotoks to the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board (CMRB) to undergo a review in accordance with the CMRB Growth Plan and IREF process. The CMRB review and circulation process will last approximately 8-10 weeks. Following the completion of the CMRB review process, the Town of Okotoks Council may consider third reading and final approval of the ASP.

Approval Process Dates

The Town of Okotoks Council granted first reading of the Trilogy Plains ASP on Monday, February 27th, 2023. The ASP will be considered by the Town of Okotoks Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Following MPC consideration, the Town will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 27, 2023, and Council may consider second reading of the Trilogy Plains ASP. Following the public hearing and Council consideration of second reading, the ASP will be referred to the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board (CMRB). The CMRB review and circulation process will last approximately 8-10 weeks. Following the CMRB review and circulation process, the Town of Okotoks Council may consider third reading and final approval of the ASP.

Phase Two Public Engagement is Complete

This December, the second round of public engagement for the Trilogy Plains Area Structure Plan (ASP) was completed and summarized feedback into a Public Engagement Summary report (linked below). The Phase Two engagement program primarily consisted of email communications and a public open house on October 12, 2022, where feedback was collected in person and through our online survey. Thank you to the community for your time and input into the project. Click the link below to view the engagement summary and learn how public input will help shape the plan moving forward. Following the completion of Phase Two engagement, we anticipate the Area Structure Plan will be submitted to the Town in January 2023 for internal review and circulation. Revisions will be made to the ASP as necessary, and we expect the approval process to be complete in March 2023.

Join us for a public open house to learn more about the updated Trilogy Plains Area Structure Plan. The ASP has been updated following review and input from stakeholders. Before resubmitting the ASP to The Town of Okotoks, Lamont Land will provide a project update, share the revised land use concept, and outcomes from the transportation and servicing reports. If you are unable to attend, the project website will be updated following the event with all materials and links to the online feedback form.

Town of Okotoks Administrative Review of Area Structure Plan is complete

The Town of Okotoks has completed its review of the Trilogy Plains Area Structure Plan (ASP) submitted in late December 2021. We are in the process of making updates to the ASP according to the feedback from the Town and are targeting resubmission in July 2022. The Town will then complete another review process.

We are aiming for a public open house in fall 2022 and aiming to go to Council in late 2022, or early 2023. Register to receive future project updates and updates on opportunities for engagement in the coming months.

Phase One Public Engagement is Live

The first round of public engagement for the Trilogy Plains Area Structure Plan project is now live. See the links below to review the virtual information session held on December 7, 2021, the presentation shared at the virtual event, and complete an online survey (now closed) to share your thoughts about the project.

The survey is live until December 17, 2021. All input will be summarized in a What We Heard report and will be shared publicly once complete.

Public Information Session – December 7, 2021

Join us for a virtual information session to learn more about the project, meet the team, ask questions, and provide feedback. This event is open to the public and free to attend. The information session will have a formal presentation and allow stakeholders the opportunity to ask the project team questions.
